Every photographer seems to do a year review just about now.
I think its a good way to reflect on ones pictures so here’s mine: a mixture of news, pr and theatre
The A Midsummer Night’s Dream photoshoot kicked off the year in a good way. This is the best from that
Couple front pages in Jan were nice too.
The usual Miss England hopefuls in Feb
Tough murder job in Coventry in March
My team and I worked on the 360 project promo shots: 5 short films, 5 different plots
I got to do a couple of really cool Times jobs in April: the two best of the year.
Sir Antony Sher
A few spring shots:
The Poppy Smart story went mad, national news for a week on tv, radio, newspapers. I was the only one to photograph her so only my shots were used everywhere.
There was a lot of PR work to do this year.
The Sky conference was a really good day, they put on a real show for their staff. The Haka exercise was amazing, rare to get a shot like this
Loads more PR
I went on tour with Forge Production House in the Summer for ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Great fun covering backstage and the show itself.
We also did a couple of big setup shoots
Back the the news grind and a couple of nice feature pieces:
Marlon Harewood for The Mirror
School Rugby in Bath for The Mail
Hells Angels for The Sun
Walsall Town FC for The Times
Another feature I did that I loved was on the Apple Harvest. I set it all up and got to go down on a sunny Friday to the factory, then the orchard
More PR work but sports PR this time which I really enjoy.
To close the year out I adapted the way I shot portraits quite a lot and have been working on this since around September, working with some great models in some great cities
